Managed to get up to school to fill bird feeders this afternoon-feeling guilty as feeders empty as 12 days since last filled!
Alas managed to smash a fat ball feeder when I took an undignified and unexpected fall down a muddy slope….
Very ice weather today so put out lots of extra food for birds ie fat balls and squares,peanuts,mixed seed,sunflower hearts,suet pellets,dried mealworms and sultanas
Several blackbirds seen in school wildlife area + lots of birdsong heard from smaller birds
NB on way home further along Mill Lane spotted 2 dandelion flowers in full bloom!
Also 2 full black sacks of litter -cans,bottles,plastic,paper etc-collected by daughter and I during top of Mill Lane /Headway Cross Rd circular walk

Hi Jean, I hope you didn’t hurt yourself. You shouldn’t feel guilty, you do a great job,and I don’t
think they will have suffered as they are very resourceful little creatures.

Hi Sandra I did reply but my comments didn’t appear for some reason so will try again!
I have had 2 very painful weeks re leg -initially strange knee movement with increasing pain then severe leg swelling with unbearable pain resulting in xray,111 calls,blood thinning injection,leg scan etc
Medication not a success so far due to horrible side effects-been confined to settee rest since Tues 13th Jan
