More annual pruning…

Monday Nov 13th 2023

At school before 8.30am signed in and headed to school wildlife area as usual ..weather dry though conditions underfoot extremely muddy due to recent almost continuous wet weather !

Whilst waiting for Mrs Webber to arrive I started to prune back the buddleijas growing on the slope opposite our tool shed…Mrs W arrived around 9am after adding the bucket of fruit peelings from nursery to a compost bin she joined me pruning and weeding the buddleija area ..

We worked for 2.5 hours filling a dumpy bag with various shrub prunings plus weeded out alexanders and wood avens …saw sign of daffodil leaves emerging in a few areas …I took numerous buddleija cuttings which I planted as hoping for even more flowers next year 👍🏻

We stopped for a refreshment break and catch up then Mrs W returned to pruning and weeding along the top pathway whilst I was busy picking up twigs and pulling out alexander regrowth from the large grassy area between the 2 main paths ..

We packed away tools etc and headed for our homes around noon 👍🏻
